Windows Server

Windows Server is Microsoft's enterprise server operating system providing Active Directory, Hyper-V virtualization, file and print services, and comprehensive management tools for enterprise infrastructure.

Overview

Windows Server remains the dominant enterprise server platform for organizations invested in Microsoft technologies, providing seamless integration with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, SQL Server, and Exchange. With features like Hyper-V virtualization, failover clustering, and comprehensive management tools, Windows Server powers mission-critical infrastructure worldwide. My experience deploying Windows Server in federal and commercial environments demonstrates its enterprise capabilities.

My Windows Server Experience

Throughout my career at TISTA and LionLink, I've designed and deployed Windows Server infrastructure for diverse requirements from federal government data centers to commercial hosting environments.

Active Directory and Identity

Deployed multi-forest Active Directory infrastructures for federal agencies requiring segregated security domains. Implemented Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) for single sign-on across cloud and on-premises applications. Group Policy provided centralized configuration management for thousands of endpoints, enforcing security policies and compliance requirements.

Virtualization with Hyper-V

Built Hyper-V clusters for virtual machine infrastructure supporting SQL Server databases, Exchange email servers, and web application farms. Leveraged Hyper-V Replica for disaster recovery replication between data centers. Live Migration enabled zero-downtime maintenance and dynamic workload balancing.

Enterprise Use Cases

Windows Server excels for Active Directory domain services, Microsoft SQL Server hosting, Exchange email infrastructure, SharePoint collaboration platforms, file and print services, Remote Desktop Services (RDS) for VDI, Hyper-V virtualization infrastructure, and hybrid cloud scenarios with Azure integration.
